As a fan of Jack White I had to post this news and it also seemed like an appropriate time to announce that this is NOT just an electronic music blog! The philosophy here is “Elevate your mind while your ass is planted in that chair.” Elevated minds and music is our mission here. Now on with the show..

The Dead Weather, a new Jack White project that was announced March 12 at a private show, delivers a raw new take on his elaborae rock/blues/noise journey. Jack rounds up The Kills’ Alison Mosshart as well as old favorties Little Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertila for a stripped-down, loud and kinetic sound. The first single, “Hang you from the heavens” has been leaked online but you can listen to a fairly high-quality version on the band’s website HERE. “Are friends Electric” is also worth a listen, with a carnival-esque Doors feeling. Both tracks and the band’s very cool website have me amped for the album release. Coachella anyone?

Nice coverage from Rolling Stone can be read HERE
