Hate Records 004: Triple Bypass / Submariner

I have secretly been waiting for this series to exist for years. It’s a brilliant formula for trainspotters and djs: Revisit the glory days of jungle (91-95), edit up the best parts for a dubstep tempo remix, and release annonymously as a sub-label to Boomkat’s larger Modern Love imprint. Color me impressed not only with the marketing idea but for taking the best parts of dubstep and D&B’s past and mixing that shit up for a trip back to the warehouse.

Part four in this series just dropped on 12″ and can be picked up at Boomkat currently. Notes on the site indicate they sampled an old Juicebox jam for the A side while a kickin Amen sample runs the B cut. Like all other tracks on this label the grooves are well-edited and moody, tracks you can listen to over and over again. Instant classics and my favorite new project on the market. Sampling up the best of Moving Shadow, Danny Breaks, A Guy Called Gerald, 2 bad Mice you really can’t go wrong. If you long for the sound of those days check these releases. And if anyone has information or an ID please share!
